PT BINA INSAN SEJAHTERA MANDIRI (BISMA) is a private company established under Notarial Deed No.4 dated October 7, 2002 of Mr. Robert Purba, a public notary in Jakarta and commenced its commercial operation in March 2003. The incorporation is aimed to participate in development of microfinance in Indonesia which in turn will support the growth of micro economic sector in Indonesia. |
| Initially BISMA’s contribution to micro finance sector was limited as facilitator of microfinance program. Then along with the growth of BISMA as well as the need to contribute more in development of microfinance sector, BISMA currently expands more to technical capacity building of Micro Finance Institutions ranging from institutional assessment services, technical incubation services and thematic consultation/training services. |
| BISMA is designed as social commercial enterprise meaning that BISMA concerns on social value on each of services delivered to the sector rather than maximize commercial profit. BISMA prioritize to facilitate microfinance program, either in financial and technical services, that brings benefit to Micro Finance Institutions (MFIs) that have less technical capacity and/or limited access for funding. |
